For a thin person, it is FUN!! For an average sized person, it is bearable! For an overweight person, it is downright discouraging, intimidating, and positively, absolutely stressful.

You discover you are going away to some place warm for a relaxing vacation and you just know that you are either going to have to sit in the shade or put on a bathing suit. What do you do?

Do not sacrifice having a wonderful vacation by stressing out over this. Find a bathing suit that you can contend with, put it on, and go and have fun with your family. Your family has already seen the likes of you and they love you anyway. Who cares what other people think? It is your time, your vacation. Go out and have fun.

If you are a larger sized person and in the process of losing weight you know that you are doing all that you can to make that happen. So you have not met your goal yet, but you will. In the meantime, there are bathing suits that you can purchase that will help to hide what you most want to.

For a less than desirable sized person there are certain cuts and styles of bathing suits that will help to flatter your most hated parts of your body while you are attempting to reach your goal.

Here are a few tips to get you going on your bathing suit shopping journey:

For the curvaceous woman select a one-piece bathing suit with cutouts around the middle. It tends to have a slimming effect. Another good choice is the tankini. With its long top you can purchase bottoms that have a longer cut around the leg opening that is also higher up in the hip region.

For the woman who is generously endowed on top select an underwire bathing suit top with ample support. A halter-top style will also be a good pick.

For the woman who has too much around the middle you should select a thicker fabric that has tummy tightening features. A one-piece bathing suit with a pattern is a good choice. Darker colors are best. No stripes please.

For the woman who has too much hip you should select either a bottom with a skirt if your heart is set on a two-piece bathing suit. It will hide your bottom. Do not wear anything that is cut too high in the leg region. Boy cut shorts are a second runner-up in the two-piece category.

Once you have selected the perfect bathing suit, wear it with pride. Go out, have fun with your family, and do not worry about anything else. Giving up precious moments with your loved ones is not worth the sacrifice of being seen in a bathing suit no matter what size you are.

What about a curvy, hippy, large top, flabby belly & big butt woman:) I seem to have ALL of the problems! I have a suit and have been debating about signing up for baby & mom swim classes. I think they would be fun & a great way to meet moms with babies around Ellamaes age. I just have to get over my bathing suit fear!
