Why I Am Thankful For My FAT

Okay, so I'm not actually thankful for the fat. But here's why I am thankful for my body, no matter what size it is.

I am thankful for my bones that are strong enough to hold me up, to allow me to walk tall and to see the world in all its glory.

I am thankful for my skin so that I might feel the raindrops on my arms or the wind on my back.

I am thankful for my heart, so that I may live each day on earth and watch my children grow.

I am thankful for my arms, no matter what their size, because I can pick up my children. I can hug them. I can love them.

I am thankful for my legs that carry me through life, that let me run after my two year old and stretch out in bed in the mornings.

I am thankful for my eyes, that I might see nature, take photographs of my family, and appreciate the beauty of the world I live in.

And yes, I am even thankful for those areas I do not like. I am thankful for my stomach because even though it is larger than I'd like and marked with the badges of pregnancy, it carried my children. It kept them safe for nearly a year, and it grew out of love. I am thankful even for the fat, yes. Because it lets me know that my life is one without famine. I am fed. My family is fed. And even though I'd love to shed the extra poundage, I am grateful that my life is without malnourishment.

Whatever your body size, think outside the box for a moment. Realize that your body is more than the size of clothes you wear. It is a vessel that carries you each step of your journey on earth. Honor yourself...honor your body.

This is so true! The body is an amazing design, and I am thankful for it.
