Weighing Thy Self

The experts say that once a week or even once a month is the best way to do it. I say, "Whatever works for you." I do it once, twice, even three times a day. A mistake? Possibly. However, in my experience I have come to discover that if I do not weigh myself this often I think that I am off the hook and tend to forget about my goals. It is my way of staying on top of things. There is even a club for the obsessive weighers like myself. At http://weight-loss.fitness.com/club/7618-weigh-yourself-everyday-club-272.html you will have company if this sounds like you. They also feel the way that I do. Maybe we are all just terrified of going backwards and falling off the wagon. Whatever you decide to do you should do what is best for you. Here are some tips to obtain a successful weigh-in:

• Weigh yourself at the same time every day, preferably naked. • Remember, most people's weight tends to fluctuate every day, especially a woman's weight. • Women who are menstruating tend to pack on a lot of water weight, do not panic if you are getting close to D-day and you have gone up a few pounds. • If you find that you have hit a plateau, you could be still losing body fat if you have been consistent in exercising.

The important thing to remember is not to give up. If you gain a couple of pounds get a grip on it as soon as possible and get back on your diet. Make a conscious effort to count your calories. Reach for a vegetable before you grab those chips. Stop and think before you open your mouth. You might even try to move your scale to the kitchen area so that it is a constant reminder. Give yourself other reminders as well. Hang a picture of yourself on the refrigerator of what you used to look like before you started dieting. Next to that picture hang a recent picture of yourself and your accomplishments. If you have not lost enough to show it in a picture then hang a chart of your weekly or daily weight loss accomplishments. Hang up encouraging or inspiring notes or things that you will do once you have lost the weight. Do not let up on yourself if you are having a problem with self-control. Weight loss takes time, but eventually the determined will reach the finish line. Good luck in your weight loss goals.

How to lose 50 pounds fast?

Angel Lynn Diamond Online! (224) 03 Aug 2009 01:09 PM

It takes time to lose weight. Fifty pounds is a great deal to lose. However, I have to tell you that I lost 40 pounds in two months, but it took approximately 2 hours of exercise a day and an 800-calorie diet. You can do it in a healthy way if you give it some time. Remember too, the longer it takes you to lose the weight, the more apt you are to keep it off. You are not just losing weight when you do this, but actually changing your lifestyle, including your eating habits. I find that I am much more conscious of everything that I eat. I don't think that I will ever stop counting the calories. It is a habit now and a way to keep myself in line so that I don't gain it back. Follow a healthy eating plan, stay away from snacks, no fast foods, do not eat after 7 pm and exercise. You will lose the weight this way. Good luck, you can do it. Blessings.
