To The Gym: My Training Session, I Thought

I had an appointment at around 10:30 a.m. with the trainer, so I got there early to walk the treadmill. Yes, I was anxious to start. Included in my membership was a one-hour session with a personal trainer. Of course, I decided to take advantage of it. I had researched fitness for years and practiced it. I had thought that I was doing the right exercises for my goals. Now it was time to see how close I was or if I was really far off. My session was cancelled. My trainer came over to me and explained that she was not aware of the appointment until that day when she walked in for another reason. She apologized. We rescheduled for the next day, which was fine for me. I stuck the earpiece of my MP3 player into my left ear and continued walking. I used the exercise bike and the elliptical machine and worked out for about an hour. My legs were a little sore from the elliptical machine, but not overly sore.

You have to start somewhere, right? I had a good workout. I went home and ate a salad. I was feeling pretty good. I counted my calories for a total of 1000. Perfect, I said to myself. I am aiming to shoot between 800-1000. I was pleased with myself.

I lay down to rest my legs. I woke up 2 hours later not knowing where I was or where I was supposed to be. I panicked because I just knew that I must have been late for something. I realized that I did not have to go anywhere. The world was a blur and the tops of my legs were sore. However, my right knee, which needed some rehabilitating, did feel better. My plan worked. Tomorrow is my training session, I thought to myself.
