Time to Get Moving!- Introductionby Elizabeth Kane, MA, Marriage and Family | More from this Blogger 31 Jan 2007 03:32 PM My name is Elizabeth Kane. I will celebrate my thirty-first birthday in March. I have two children-- a daughter who is four and a step-son who is eleven. Weight is not something I had to deal with on a regular basis until after I had my daughter. Prior to being a mother I weighed approximately 105 lbs. and I am 5' 1" tall. Sure in high school I packed on forty pounds but lost it as most youth can do fairly quickly. It was during my high school weight loss experience that I took up exercising. My first marriage ended within months after I gave birth to my daughter. I had gained over fifty pounds during my pregnancy and still had twenty to lose at my six -week-check- up. It is now four years later and I am still complaining about my baby weight. My husband and I jog and go to the gym when we can, but I am just maintaining my weight, not losing. I currently juggle a full-time work schedule, graduate school two nights per week, two children a husband and a household. It becomes quite difficult to squeeze exercise into my weekly routine. Current Weight: 131 Height: 5' 1" Goal Weight: 110 Amount of Weight to Lose: 21 lbs My husband and I want to have a baby next year. I want to feel healthy and good during my pregnancy. I also want to feel more comfortable in the pool, in a bathing suit, playing with my children in the summer. So, IT'S TIME TO GET MOVING! It is time for me to get serious about losing the weight and on my way to a better body self image. Whether you have ten pounds to lose or one hundred it is getting started and staying committed that we all struggle with. I hope you will join me on my journey and let's see how we can all keep each other in check with a positive support system. RELATED ARTICLES Check Out Some of My Other Blogs! She looked like a different person. I think it was a year or two later when she had back to back pregnancies. The second baby totally surprised her. Good luck to your family, children bring such joy.
