Mission Possible: Matrimonial Motivation

Hello my fellow weight loss enthusiasts. This marks the beginning of the second full week of Mission Possible. I still have a BMI of 31 but I have now lost 3 pounds. In case you’re new to Mission Possible, you may want to check out my introduction to the series, or my dieting manifesto. Essentially, I am determined to lose weight and I refuse to starve myself to do it. I am simply eating less and moving more. That’s it. No money spent (although I would join a gym if it were convenient), no starvation, binging, purging, no supplements, no … Continue reading

Weight Loss Blog Week in Review July 16 through July 22

This past week has been exciting in the weight loss as I’ve personally declared war on nonsense diets. To lose weight the equation is simple: eat less + move more = weight loss. Join me in my Mission Impossible series as I chronicle my weight loss journey to show everyone that it is not necessary to starve yourself in order to lose weight! Mission Possible: The Current State of Affairs

Let’s take back the weight loss! Current BMI: 31 Pounds to Go: 55 Yesterday I wrote about my deep concern over the state of weight loss in our culture. It seems like we get so desperate to lose the weight or look a certain way that we’re willing to do crazy things that, if we stopped to think about it, really don’t make sense. It does not make sense to give yourself excessive diarrhea in the name of health. That’s an oxymoron. It does not make sense to eat in such a way as to leave out major food groups … Continue reading

Mission Possible: My Confession

A couple of months ago I began writing for the weight loss blog. In researching my articles and watching discussions in the forums, I have come to learn that people will do almost anything to lose weight. We’re willing to starve ourselves, knowingly give ourselves diarrhea either through a ‘colon cleanse’ or Alli, our pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars to lose weight. I am so surprised at the lengths some women will go to lose weight that I am putting my foot down and saying ‘no more’. We don’t have to do these things to our bodies in order … Continue reading

Easter Freedom

My daughter and I have always been exceptionally close. I chock it up to the hours and hours she spent attached to my breast while she was an infant. And by hours I mean days. Actually, months. Okay, years. The kid nursed for the first two-and-a-half years of her life. My bosom buddy is six now and breastfeeding has been replaced with quality time doing other things together, such as reading, playing tennis, taking hikes and playing with Barbie’s urinating pups. Whereas my daughter is in full-day school this year, I still pepper our playtime with little lessons, including stranger … Continue reading

God’s Plan of Salvation

Christians have the most important job and opportunity on earth: to share the gospel and God’s plan of salvation with others. I think it is important for Christians to be prepared to talk to friends and family about salvation and heaven. God’s plan of salvation is simple. It is not hard to follow or to understand. There are five basic steps one must follow to become a Christian: Hear, Believe, Repent, Confess, and Be Baptized. Hear First one must hear the Word of God. One must realize that he has sin in his life and that sin separates him from … Continue reading
