Do You Think Jessica Simpson is Fat?

A slew of tabloids do and they are milking photos of the bigger blonde songstress for all they’re worth. And so it begins… another round of who’s fat in Hollywood. Jessica Simpson has been the talk of the World Wide Web since showing up to a concert gig wearing high-waisted jeans, a tank top, and the most hideous looking double-decker leopard print belt I’ve ever seen in my life. Forget about Simpson’s weight gain people… let’s talk about her choice in clothing! All week long the tabloids have been poking fun at the “porkier” version of the once rail-thin singer … Continue reading

Looking For My Waist: Two Steps Forward?

I am doing better than I was just a few days ago. I hung in there with the good habits I had started, and I am actually craving healthy foods. I love salad… but somehow restaurant salads taste a lot better. The good habits include eating ridiculous amounts of vegetables and fiber filled foods. I have also taken to sipping pomegranate juice instead of downing large amounts of sugar laden fruit juices. Instead I drink a lot more water and tea. Another good habit is constant movement. Even though I write for a living and homeschool my kids, which requires … Continue reading

Looking for My Waist… Seriously

I feel like I have been playing at losing weight. I’m on board one day. I’m weak the next. The next day, I am good again. It is time to get serious. Excuses like I made last week, have to be a thing of the past. Procrastination is not my friend. A bad mood is not a good reason to overdose on chocolate. Having a good cook around is not a good reason to eat everything they make. If I am going to find my missing waist, I am going to have to be strong… very strong! Exercise… well, that’s … Continue reading

Looking For My Waist: There Should Be Dancing!

I went dancing last night. I am sure this sounds like no biggie, but you have to understand that his was HUGE for me. I have always prided myself on being the person that has thrown all black (African American) stereotypes to the wind. For one, I have no rhythm and I am proud of it. Nope, I can’t dance. For the last 14+ years of my marriage and the 6 years of dating that preceded, my poor husband has had to drag me onto the dance floor kicking and screaming, and then take the horrible assault on his feet. … Continue reading

Body Type Workouts – the Mesomorph

I told you we’d talk more about how your body type can influence your workout choices and in this case, we’re talking about the Mesomorph. So what exactly is a mesomorph? The mesomorph is built very athletically. A mesomorph can build muscle quickly and easily. They have a well-defined chest and shoulders that are typically larger and broader than your waistline. The hips are usually the same width as your shoulders and your trunk and lower body are well defined. Most people look at Mesomorphs with envy because they seem to be built for workouts, workout clothes and more. Most … Continue reading
