Judging the Overweight

For those of you who have seen the movie, "Shallow Hal" you will understand what I am talking about. For those of you who have not seen this movie, it is a good pick to watch. The movie begins something like this. This bachelor is looking for the perfect girl, but his attempts are in vain. He chooses the girls who are a "10" in the looks category, but there is not much upstairs, if you know what I mean. He judges these women solely on their outward beauty. He is told by a motivational speaker while riding in an elevator that he must stop this and concentrate on what is on the inside. To help him out he does some kind of hypnosis on him. After that, "Hal" sees the women who are a "10" as ugly and the ugly women now appear beautiful in "Hal's" eyes.

From across the distance "Hal" spots the girl of his dreams. She is Rosemary, grossly overweight, but with a demeanor so sweet that one cannot help but to love her. He is able to look past her weight and see her inner beauty. She appears slim and trim to him because of the hypnosis. He falls madly in love with her. "Hal" finally gets it. He learns that looks are not everything.

So many people judge others on their appearance before getting to know the exterior of a person. People come in all sizes and shapes. For only the purpose of feeling good and being healthy should a person lose weight. If you are overweight and looking to shed pounds, that is a wonderful thing because you are caring about your health. By losing weight you can avoid all kinds of potential health issues that can take years of your life away from you. Using one of the many tools that are available on the internet or through your doctor find out what your ideal weight should be and then set your goals for that number. Aim to lose by 10-pound increments until you reach your final goal. This way of thinking will help you not to become too overwhelmed at reaching your destination. Be careful that you do not lose too much weight. Too thin is not healthy or attractive either.

Remember, no matter how much you weigh, your inner beauty is what matters the most. We are all beautiful and we will reach our goals in time. Good luck in reaching yours. You ARE going to do it. Keep eating healthy and keep moving!
