Get Ready for 100 Pound Loser!

I want to tell you about an ebook coming out on January 1st.  I wage it will motivate you to lose those extra pounds.  My confidence is based on the author, Jessica Heights.  (Her name alone has a confident and famous ring to it, doesn’t it?). Jessica is the author of the blog, Muthering Heights.  She is also a bloggy friend that I hold dear.  We share a quirky introvert thing. Well as much as introverts can share (actually introverts form deep friendships once they get over the initial human contact awkwardness).  At any rate, Jessica has a new ebook … Continue reading

Part Two: Interview with Neil Tejwani, Past Contestant on “Biggest Loser”

In part one I talked about the interview I had with season four contestant, Neil Tejwani and the journey he took that led him to the “Biggest Loser.” This blog continues with that interview. Neil shared a great quote from Albert Einstein that I believe can be inspiring for everyone. It is: “Within every difficulty lies an opportunity.” Neil shared that one of the biggest things he learned from being on the “Biggest Loser” was that people can underestimate the power of their strength and determination to accomplish what they purpose to do. If you apply yourself to something and … Continue reading

Confessions of a Fitness Blogger

Some days, I just don’t want to get out of bed. Some days, I just don’t know what to sit down and write when I pull up the screen. I have a confession to make, for someone who writes about fitness, enjoys fitness and works out regularly; I’ve been struggling for months to maintain my motivation, stay alert and just stay focused. It’s hard. Tell Me Something I Don’t Know Life is hard. I’ve always known this and I think hard work encourages a person to persevere beyond what they could do normally. That being said, I think that after … Continue reading

Food—The Year In Review and What’s Ahead—I NEED YOUR HELP

The food blog saw many delicious recipes in 2006. From soups and stews, to amazing panini sandwiches and tantalizing salads, reader’s waist lines expanded just reading the recipes! I am thankful and happy to have been a part of those blogs, and have enjoyed reading and sampling my colleagues’ recipes as well. Creating recipes for me is a joy. I love feeding people. I also love coming up with innovative ways to remake classic recipes. But in 2007 I’m going to make a conscious effort to include a few new elements in the food blog. With so many of our … Continue reading

Biggest Loser.. the TV show that is…

Ahhh yes, as you already know, just like Celebrity Gossip, I’m a sucker for Reality TV. I know a lot of you think it’s bogus, but something I’m defiantly TIVOing is the new season of Biggest Loser. I caught a rerun of it on Bravo last night, and because nothing else was on, I sat there and was captivated by the new season. It’s a lot different than Biggest Losers of the past–they’ve changed it up a lot, which helps. This season’s Biggest Loser, “Special Edition” once again has real life people struggling with weight loss, but in a typical … Continue reading

Twelve Months Post Partum: An Exercising Journey Part VI

After struggling for months trying to lose all (and maybe a smidge more) of the weight I had gained during my two pregnancies, after changing up my exercise routine again and again, and after going back and forth between motivation and frustration, I finally found a workout that could help me reach my ultimate goal: getting back down to the weight I was before having children. Thankfully my (very skinny) sister asked me to do an over the top workout with her that she and her husband were never able to get through.  The workout was beyond insanely difficult.  We … Continue reading
