Loathe Gym Classes? Try This....

Now if you're like me, I'm not a big fan of gym classes. I like going to the gym and doing my own workout at my own pace. There's just something about a super in-shape, six packed women in a bikini that I find a little intimidating. Plus, who can get up, get the kids ready and be at the gym by 8:00 am? Supermom, yes, but not me. I've tried tae-bo, pi-low and lots of others, but most of the time I end up so sore that I can't move for a week and never go back.

So enters the workout DVD.

I like the concept-you can workout at your own pace in the comfort and privacy of your own home... and don't have to feel like a fool in front of a bunch of people when they are grapevining left whilst you're grapevining right. I've been there!

So, I've seen it on TV (yes, you've got me again) about a million times, so last week my hubby and I bought Gunnar Peterson's Core Secrets DVD.

If you've never heard of Gunnar, he's the celebrity of personal trainers-having trained everyone from movie stars to pro-athletes. According to his website "Peterson is widely recognized for his expertise in functional training, as well as his commitment to developing and implementing innovative fitness techniques. His dynamic approach focuses on achieving long-term results through challenging and constantly varied workouts. His continuing education in fitness trends and training techniques reinforces the trust his clients have placed in him for more than 16 years."

For a mere $39.95, we got a fitness ball and pump, and three DVD's: The Core Fundamentals, 25 Minute Workout and Accelerated Core Training, and the Ab Assault. It also came with some explanation of the core training, some cool fitness flash cards and an effective eating guide.

I'm going to TRY and do it two days a week to get some variety and add a little extra to my thrice weekly jaunt to the gym. I'm going to get up tomorrow, try it out and report back.

Got any workout video's you can't live without? Shoot me a comment, I'd love to hear!
