Finding the Action Hero Within

I decided to take a little time for myself today and watch a movie. Since Pride and Prejudice wasn't available, I opted for an action movie. You know the type - based upon a very popular video game where the heroine saves the world and kicks some heiny with style and attitude? I love those movies!

So what does a movie have to do with weight loss?

Everything.

I don't need to be an action hero. I just want to look like one.

That means I have to lose about 20 pounds of bodyfat and take everything else I have and tighten it up. You may even be in the same position. OK, so maybe you don't want to look like Mila Jovovich or Angelina Jolie but hey, you can always stop yourself before you get that gorgeous.

I've done a few blogs on weight loss before and yes, I even had a gastric bypass. The bypass was successful, but I got pregnant a few years after that and my doctor told me not to restrict my starchy carbs. Silly, me. I listened to him and gained 70 pounds during my pregnancy. So here I am, back at square one, only not as bad. I have 20 pounds to go to get back to my pre-pregnancy, post-bypass weight.

So, if you're like me and one of those people who wants to lose some fat and tighten up, come on along and let's lose some weight!

Coming blogs will focus on how to use the resources available here at Families.com, other online sites and even a few things that most of us already have at home to motivate us, build the best bodies we can and feed them for optimum performance. This isn't rocket science but we all know, although we may like to deny it, that lasting weight loss requires proper nutrition AND exercise. I'm not talking about taking expensive measures to do all of this. I'm talking about acting like an action hero and using everything we have at our disposal to get the job done. So let's do it!
