You might recognize him from the favorite weight and fitness television show, VH1's Celebrity Fit Club. Dr. Ian Smith is not only a medical doctor, but an author as well. Besides being on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club he is also a NBC News correspondent, the host of HealthWatch with Dr. Ian Smith and on The View. Dr. Ian lives in New York City with his wife and son.

A graduate of Harvard, Columbia and Dartmouth Medical School, Dr. Ian also graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He has appeared on several other shows in addition to those mentioned above. These shows include "The Tyra Banks Show", "Larry King Live", "Today Show" and others.

Dr. Ian Smith is recognized for his honorable services to the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for his take on the 9/11. An active member of the community and working for several causes, he also serves on several boards.

Dr. Smith is also an author as mentioned previously. His published works include Dr. Ian Smith's Guide to Medical Websites, The Blackbird Papers, the Take-Control Diet and the number one bestseller on the New York Times list for "The Fat Smash Diet".

Dr. Ian Smith plays an active role on The Celebrity Fit Club as an advisor. His sound advice has the attention of all the celebrities. Dr. Ian Smith is a knowledgeable counselor on the topic of fitness and weight loss. Many celebrities have lost weight because of Dr. Ian's health and weight loss tips. Dr. Ian is a wonderful fitness role model and instead of ambushing the contestants, he offered encouragement, guidance, and a sympathetic ear.
