Bill Phillips’ Transformation Station

I recently discovered the joys of podcasts. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard the word “podcast”. You may not have had the time to look into podcasts and what they can bring into your life though. (Like television, podcasts can add to your life or waste your time, depending upon which ones you listen to.) Taking the Body for Life Challenge is good for me, but it isn’t easy. One thing that is really helping me stay motivated is Bill Phillips’ Transformation Talk, a weekly radio show aired on Sirius Satellite Radio. If you don’t subscribe to … Continue reading

Clean Out Your Fridge ASAP!

OK, friends, it is time to get serious about our New Year’s Resolutions. No, I’m not telling you to join a gym. I want you all to join me in doing something that many of us find even more difficult: Get rid of the holiday foods! It is time to clean out the holiday fare from the refrigerator, cookie jar and cupboards. You’ve got one week to tackle this daunting task before we all start the Body-for-Life Challenge. Now don’t go crazy and just start throwing things out. (Don’t waste food!) Remember that the Body-for-Life program allows for a “Free … Continue reading

Don’t Fall into the Gym Membership Trap!

Do you realize how many well-meaning Americans with great intentions join a gym during the first week in January? Before this pregnancy, I was going to the gym every Monday through Friday throughout the year (after having a gastric bypass in 2001, I’m pretty motivated to not go back to my pre-surgery body). Most of the time, the machines at the Bally Total Fitness where I work out are pretty easy to get to. There are loads and loads of treadmills, bikes and elliptical trainers as well as several series of circuit training machines and loads of free weights. No … Continue reading

Body for Life Support Groups

My blog yesterday talked about all the free media out there to help you get through the Body-for-Life Challenge. I’ve got good news for you: there is even more! There are 407 Body-for-Life groups at Yahoo Groups. You can see them all here. Granted, some of these groups are very large but chances are that there is a Body-for-Life group there that is perfect for you. There are groups for certain age groups, geographic locations, men, women, particular interests and more. One of the greatest keys to making your weight loss efforts successful is to have additional outside support. Now … Continue reading

Body for Life Free Media

Back in 2006, I did a blog on the Transformation Talk podcasts by Bill Phillips, author of Body-for-Life. They were great, free podcasts and I still have them saved on my computer. You can still download them from the archives at Hay House Radio. Just see my original blog for the link. I strongly recommend that you tap into these podcasts if you’re considering taking the challenge. Bill Phillips has a new book coming out soon called “Transformation”. His website has a forum that isn’t terribly interactive but you may just get something out of it. You can visit the … Continue reading

Can You Give Yourself 12 Weeks?

Julie Ann Sproles gave herself twelve weeks and lost forty pounds. She went from a size 16 to a size 6. In the grand scheme of things, twelve weeks really isn’t that much. It isn’t even one quarter of a year! When you consider how little work is involved in following the Body-for-Life plan and that you’ll put in less than an hour a day improving yourself, this question should be a no-brainer! Less than one hour a day for only 84 days? Come on! This is a piece of cake! Speaking of cake, you can eat that piece of … Continue reading

Plan to Start the Body-for-Life Challenge in January

How would you like to have your best body ever and win $50,000 to boot? Well, I’m about to tell you how you can make it happen! The Body-for-LIFE Challenge is a 12-week contest based on the best-selling book Body-for-LIFE. It includes proven principles for motivation, exercise, and nutrition and, believe it or not, you don’t need to join a gym to be successful! The best part is that winners are chosen based upon their personal transformation, not whether they are thinner or more muscular than somebody else or not, and answers to several transformation questions. The Body for Life … Continue reading

Motivate Your Workout with Pictures

A number of workout programs including Body for Life and the Biggest Loser require that you take a picture of yourself as you are now. You wear a bathing suit so that you can’t hide any of your flaws and that you have a really good idea of how you look. Your love handles, your bulges and even the little (and big) bits that jiggle when you laugh. These pictures are raw, honest and shed a harsh light of reality on how we look. These photographs are often used as the Before shot in order to measure the progress of … Continue reading
