Best Supplements for Losing Weight

With the United States in a serous obesity epidemic, researchers have found that intervention is essential. As you probably know, excessive weight not only makes a person feel sluggish and self-conscious, it also increases potential health risks such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and more. Therefore, if you are carrying around too much weight, you definitely want to take measures to get into a healthy weight zone for your body structure, age, and height.

Many of the diet supplements you find on the market focus on one of two things - appetite suppression and fat loss. Although those geared toward reducing appetite will work initially, they can also stop working when the body sees fewer calories are being consumed, thereby decreasing the body's metabolism. When this happens, the body thinks it is being starved so it cuts back on work. However, diet supplements that are formulated for fat loss seem to be quite successful in that food is consumed but excessive fat content is reduced.

For starters, you want to be on a good multivitamin, especially if you do not get adequate fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. You want to choose a multivitamin that offers 100% of your daily need, nothing less and nothing more. For example, if you choose something that offers 70% to 80%, you are being short-changed. However, if you choose something more than 100%, the extra is simply waste.

Then, creatine can be purchased in supplement form, which is a synthetic option for what the body produces naturally. Creatine is stored up in the muscles, which can provide needed energy to help with daily exercise. In other words, to lose weight, it is imperative that you incorporate a minimum of 30 minutes exercise every day, whether as swimming, walking, jogging, tennis, aerobics, and so on. By adding creatine to your intake, the muscles are being provided with nutrients needed for better performance.

One of the hot supplements on the market today is green tea. Although this type of tea has been enjoyed in Asian countries for centuries, within the past five years, it has made headlines for being a great way to lose weight. Study after study show that green tea helps by fighting fat. You can take green tea supplements, purchase powder form, or simply enjoy a glass of cold or hot tea in the morning and then again during the day.

Finally, consider adding fish oil to your supplement intake. By taking a minimum of two grams daily, you will find the body fights fat better while also reducing the risk of heart disease. The key here is to purchase only a high quality product in that cheap brands will taste fishy and leave a nasty aftertaste.

I think this is a great point. Many people think supplements are just good for losing weight, but the fact is, nutrition is much more important. Great article and an outstanding point.
