A Man's Reaction to Fatnessby Angel Lynn Diamond | More from this Blogger 23 Apr 2009 05:57 PM Did you ever ask a man, "Do you think that I am fat?" Try it just once and see what happens. This is a true story. It was not done to be cruel, but more as a curious thing to do, to see their reactions. Someone that I know did this recently and I was witness to it. To tell you the truth, it was very interesting. This friend of mine and I were talking about feeling fat. It was an easygoing, humorous type of a conversation. She then says, "Watch this, I want to see if he gets nervous." She then asked a male co-worker as he was walking by, "Do you think that I am fat?" He immediately went into a cold sweat, got red in the face, and said, "Heck no!" Okay, now I started to feel bad. I motioned for her to stop. The next male co-worker walks by, he is calm and cool. She says to him, "Do you think that I am fat?" I have to admit, he was good and he obviously has had this question asked to him before. He replies very calmly without a hint of blushing or sweating, "Why would you think that you are fat?" I loved it, a question to a question. This was reverse psychology at its best. This guy probably told the truth the first time to someone that he knows that was on the heavy side with a bad outcome. He has learned well. She decided to go no further with this question at my request. If you are a woman, never ask a man if you are fat. You will either get a response that you dislike, he will get very nervous to be around you and try to flee the situation, or he will not tell you the honest truth out of fear. Do not make them suffer. If you really want to know, ask a female friend. The truth will hurt less if you are overweight, there will not be an argument, and she will most likely give you an honest opinion. Angel Lynn writes in weight loss, single parenting, and health.
